I’m Haesol, a Seoul tattoo artist of ten years. Bold blackwork and linework — solid black, confident neo-tribal lines, brushed abstract strokes — need clean fills and decisive lines, not hesitation. I design each piece to wrap the body’s form. Cover-ups of heavy scarring welcome. By appointment; booking via Instagram @tattooist_haesol.

Bold black is honest work: a flat, even fill and a line that commits. There’s no shading to rescue a weak edge, so the craft is in confident, clean execution that still reads years later.
Linework and neo-tribal pieces are built to follow the body — wrapping a forearm or a calf so the form moves with you rather than sitting flat on it.
Brushed, abstract blackwork — coarse strokes with controlled splatter — is for pieces that need energy and a contemporary, painterly edge while keeping that same priority: decisive line, controlled black.
Heavy black is also strong for cover-ups; bold composition can absorb large scarring into a deliberate design.
FAQ
Can bold blackwork cover an old tattoo or scar?
Often yes — solid black and a strong composition absorb a lot. Send a clear photo and I’ll tell you honestly whether cover-up or rework is the better route.
Does heavy black age well?
When the fill is even and the line is committed, it ages strongly — bold work tends to hold better than fussy detail. Aftercare is ~2 weeks of moisturising.
