Geometric Tattoos in Seoul: Haesol’s Studio Near You

Getting a Geometric Tattoo in Seoul? Let’s Chat!

Hey there! I’m Haesol (해솔), and I’ve been working as a tattoo artist here in Seoul for about 10 years now. I’m so glad you’re checking out my work. A lot of people ask me about getting tattoos here, especially if they don’t speak Korean fluently, so I wanted to put together this post to answer some common questions.

My studio is located near Children’s Grand Park Station, in the Konkuk/Seongsu area. It’s a pretty cool area, lots of cafes and things to see. I specialize in Korean traditional art – like Minhwa, you know? But I also do other styles. Actually, I’ve been doing more and more geometric tattoos lately, and I really enjoy it. I think the clean lines and precision are super satisfying. A lot of people are looking for something unique, and a Korean geometric tattoo can be really special.

You might be wondering if it’s easy to get a tattoo in Seoul if you’re not a local. The answer is yes! As long as you do your research and find a reputable artist, you’ll be fine. Hopefully, I can be that artist for you. My English is conversational – enough for consultations. We can always use translation apps if we need to get super specific about the design, too.

What I Actually Do – Geometric and Other Styles

Okay, so let’s talk about what I actually do. As I mentioned, I really love Korean traditional art. It’s what I do most, and I’m passionate about keeping these old styles alive. Think tigers, dragons, flowers – all with a modern twist. But I also do fine line, black & gray, dotwork, and old school styles when clients ask. Lately, I’ve been getting more requests for geometric tattoo Seoul designs, which I’ve really been enjoying. There’s something so cool about taking a simple geometric shape and turning it into something beautiful and meaningful.

I find working on geometric designs really satisfying because it requires a lot of precision and planning. I love the challenge of creating a balanced and visually interesting design using simple shapes. Whether it’s a minimalist geometric piece or a more complex mandala, I put my heart into every tattoo.

Of course, hygiene is super important. I always use new, sterilized needles for each client, and I follow strict sanitation protocols. No exceptions. It’s not something you need to worry about at my studio.

Design Ideas and What’s Popular

So, what are people asking for these days? Well, many people come to me for Korean traditional designs because they want something unique and meaningful. It’s a cool way to connect with Korean culture, you know? But I also get a lot of requests for fine line work, especially delicate flowers, minimalist designs, and lettering. I’ve noticed geometric tattoos are becoming more popular, too. Maybe it’s because they look so modern and clean.

With geometric designs, I’ve seen a lot of requests for mandalas, geometric animals, and geometric patterns incorporating flowers. A really popular idea is to combine geometric shapes with Korean traditional motifs for a unique fusion style.

Small designs usually take 1-2 hours, while larger ones can take 3-4 hours or more. To be honest, some designs are harder than others. For example, really detailed fine line work takes a lot of time and patience. And if you want something really detailed, we might need multiple sessions. That’s something we can discuss during the consultation.

I’ve also noticed a trend towards micro tattoos and tiny, delicate designs. People want something subtle and elegant. Lettering and script are always popular, too, whether it’s a quote, a name, or a special date.

How to Find My Studio (Near Children’s Grand Park Station)

Okay, so here’s how to find me. I’m located near Children’s Grand Park Station – about a 5-minute walk from Exit 3. Super easy to get to! If you’re coming from Gangnam, it takes about 20 minutes by subway. The area is Konkuk/Seongsu – lots of cafes around if you want to grab a coffee before your appointment.

Here’s the thing: the building can be a bit hard to find the first time. Look for [Specific Landmark – Add an actual landmark here]. It’s a small building, but it’s clean and comfortable inside.

If you get lost, just text me on KakaoTalk. I can send you photos of the entrance or even come meet you near the station. Don’t worry, it happens all the time! I’m used to it.

To reiterate, I am in Konkuk/Seongsu area. Seongsu geometric tattoo designs are increasingly popular as well.

How to Book and What to Expect

The easiest way to reach me is through KakaoTalk or Instagram DM. My KakaoTalk ID is [KakaoTalk ID] and my Instagram is @tattooist_haesol (you can find the links at the bottom of this page). I speak Korean and basic English/Chinese. For more complex designs, we can use translation apps – no problem at all.

Usually, we chat about your idea first, and then I sketch something for you based on what we discussed. I want to make sure you’re 100% happy with the design before we start. I work by appointment only, and weekends get booked up pretty quickly, so it’s best to book in advance.

I accept both cash and card. The deposit is usually 50,000 won. It’s just to secure your appointment and make sure you’re serious about getting the tattoo. A lot of people ask about the price of geometric tattoo Seoul. It will depend on the size and detail of course.

Taking Care of Your New Tattoo (Aftercare Instructions)

Okay, this is super important! I’ll explain everything in detail after we’re done, but here’s what you need to know about aftercare:

  • Keep the initial wrap on for 3-4 hours only, then remove it – don’t use wrap again after removal.
  • Wash gently with just clean water 2-3 times daily – no regular soap!
  • If you want to use products, get tattoo-specific aftercare balm – apply very thinly.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO: swimming (pools, ocean) for 2+ weeks, hot baths/saunas, direct sunlight. These can cause infections and fade your tattoo.
  • No heavy exercise for at least 48 hours – sweating can cause irritation.
  • No alcohol for at least 3 days – it affects healing.
  • Don’t over-moisturize – too much product can clog pores and delay healing.
  • Surface heals in 2-3 weeks, but complete healing takes about a month.
  • Message me anytime if you have concerns – I’m here to help!

Before You Come (Preparation Tips)

Here are a few things to keep in mind before you come to your appointment:

  • Eat a good meal before coming – it really helps with the process.
  • NO alcohol the night before or day of – it affects bleeding and healing.
  • Bring your ID or passport – required by law.
  • Get a good night’s sleep – being well-rested helps.
  • Small tattoos take 1-2 hours, palm-sized ones maybe 3-4 hours.
  • Wear comfortable clothes that allow easy access to the tattoo area.
  • If you’re sick or taking blood thinners, let me know – we might need to reschedule.
  • Send me your design ideas on KakaoTalk/Instagram before you come. This will help me prepare and make the process smoother.

Geometric Tattoo Styles

Regarding styles, here are some trends I’ve observed and can do for you:

  • Flowers and Geometric Shapes: Combining organic elements like flowers with precise geometric shapes, such as diamonds or mandalas, is a beautiful way to blend nature and structure.
  • Minimalist Geometric Tattoos: Simple geometric shapes, like lines, triangles, and circles, can be combined to create elegant and understated designs.
  • Geometric Mandalas: These complex designs often feature intricate patterns and symmetrical arrangements, creating visually stunning pieces that can be deeply meaningful.
  • Stars and Geometric Patterns: Incorporating stars into geometric designs adds a celestial touch and creates a sense of wonder and mystery.
  • Geometric Text Tattoos: Combining letters or words with geometric shapes can create unique and personalized designs that are both stylish and meaningful.

Let’s Connect!

So that’s basically what I do! Korean traditional art is my specialty, but I enjoy all styles, especially anything with strong, clean lines, like the geometric pieces I mentioned earlier.

I’ve been doing this for 10 years and I still love it. It’s so rewarding to help people express themselves through art. If you want to chat about ideas, message me on KakaoTalk or Instagram. I’m near Children’s Grand Park Station – easy to find from anywhere in Seoul.

Looking forward to creating something special for you!
