I’m Haesol, a Seoul tattoo artist of ten years. Realism and colour work live or die on tonal control, so I build depth by hand — gradient, contrast and texture — until a flower or a portrait reads as dimensional, not flat. Each piece is custom-drawn around your story. By appointment; booking via Instagram @tattooist_haesol.
Studio location: Gwangjin-gu, near Konkuk University Station, Seoul.
For Korean traditional (Minhwa) tattoo work by the same artist Haesol Choi, visit onsil.ink.
Realism is about restraint as much as detail. I work contrast and tonal gradient by hand so a rose, a face or a creature carries real depth and stays readable as skin settles — not a sharp print that flattens in a year.
Colour is the same discipline with pigment. I keep saturation honest and let tone do the dimensional work, which is why my colour pieces hold their depth rather than going muddy.
Flowers and roses are frequent briefs — placed along the body’s lines so they bend with you. As with all my work it starts from your story and a one-off drawing, never a catalogue.
FAQ
Will a colour piece stay vivid?
If saturation is built honestly and tone carries the depth, yes — it holds far better than an over-bright piece that muddies. I’ll set realistic expectations for your skin at consultation.
Realism or black-and-grey for a portrait?
Depends on the subject and placement; I’ll give you a straight recommendation rather than upselling. Send a reference when you enquire.
How do I book and aftercare?
Instagram @tattooist_haesol or Kakao open chat. Seoul, by appointment. Aftercare is about two weeks of consistent moisturising — I brief you fully.
