A fighting rooster leaping forward to strike.
This tattoo design is planned as a 3/4 sleeve arm piece, centered on the moment a fighting rooster leaps forward to strike.
Rather than drawing a rooster standing still, I wanted to capture the tension of the bird lifting its legs and moving toward its opponent.
The wings and long tail feathers were arranged to follow the vertical flow of the arm, while the red comb, face, and claws were composed to carry the force just before impact.
When placed large around the arm, I wanted the sharp movement and strength of the fighting rooster to remain clear through the flow of the body.
